Water Filtration Buffalo

Our Process for Water Filtration in Buffalo, NY

No pressure and no assumptions. Every job with Water Filtration Buffalo follows the same order: find out what is in your water, explain what it means, recommend only what your water calls for, install it properly, and show you how to keep it running. Here is what that looks like from your first call to your first glass.

Step by Step

From First Call to Clean Water

Most homes go from first contact to a working system in a handful of steps. Wells add a lab test, and older houses add a lead check, but the shape is the same.

1. You Call or Send a Message

Tell us what you are noticing: taste, smell, scale, staining, or just a question about what is in your water. We ask where you live and whether you are on city water or a well, because that changes everything that follows.

2. We Test at Your Tap

We check the published data for your supplier, then measure chlorine and hardness at your tap. For older homes we test first-draw lead. For wells we help you get a certified lab test through the Erie County Department of Health referral.

3. We Explain the Results

You get the numbers, what they mean for your house, and what each option would and would not change. If your water does not call for a system, we will tell you that.

4. You Get a Written Recommendation

One clear proposal sized to your water and your household, with the reasoning attached. No good-better-best pressure ladder and no expiring discount.

5. We Install and Commission

We install at the main line or under the sink, connect drains and bypasses properly, flush and test the system, and confirm it is doing what the recommendation said it would.

6. We Walk You Through It

Before we leave you know how the system works, when filters or salt need attention, and who to call. You get the maintenance schedule in writing.

See the systems we install on our services page, or read about your town on our service areas page.

What to Expect

What a Visit Actually Looks Like

The first visit is a conversation and a test, not a sales presentation. We look at where your water enters the house, what your plumbing is made of, where a system could physically go, and what your tap reads. That usually takes under an hour.

Installation is typically a single visit for a whole-home carbon unit, a softener, or an under-sink reverse osmosis system. Well treatment with multiple stages can take longer, and we tell you the schedule before we start rather than after.

Our Commitments

What We Will Not Do

The water treatment industry has a reputation for scare tactics and oversized systems. These are the lines we hold.

No Fear-Based Selling

Buffalo Water and ECWA both meet every state standard. We say that plainly. Filtration is about taste, scale, and what your plumbing adds, not about a supply in crisis.

No Oversized Systems

A softener sized for a Midwest farmhouse is wrong for Buffalo's moderate hardness. We size to your tap reading and your household, not to the biggest unit on the truck.

No Pressure to Decide Today

The recommendation is written down. Take it, think about it, get another quote if you want. It will still be accurate next week.

No Guessing

If the answer depends on a number we do not have, we test for it. On a well that means a certified lab, not a strip test at the kitchen sink.

No Hand-Offs

The person who tests your water is the person who explains the results and stands behind the installation.

No Hidden Add-Ons

The written recommendation is the price. Drain connections, bypasses, and commissioning are part of the job, not extras.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Process

What people ask before their first visit.

No. The visit, the tap test, and the written recommendation are free with no obligation. If your water does not need a system, you will hear that from us and we part as friends.

Usually under an hour. We talk through what you are noticing, look at your plumbing and mechanical room, and test at the tap. You get the results on the spot and the written recommendation shortly after.

Yes, for at least the start and the end. We need access to the main line or the sink, and we want to walk you through the system before we leave so you know how it works.

On city water, chlorine and hardness at minimum, plus first-draw lead if the house predates the late 1980s. On a well, we help you get a certified lab test covering bacteria, nitrate, iron, manganese, hardness, and pH, with chloride added near the Thruway or heavy road-salt areas.

We flush and commission it, confirm the tap reading has changed the way the recommendation said it would, and leave you a maintenance schedule in writing. For wells we recommend a retest to prove the result. You have a direct contact for questions afterward.

Please do. The recommendation is written down with the reasoning and the numbers, so anyone else you show it to can check our logic. We would rather you be confident than rushed.
